Retainify

Terms of Service

These terms apply to the merchant who installs Retainify on a Shopify store. They are between the merchant and Retainify; they do not change the merchant’s own terms with their customers.

1. The service

Retainify adds a self-service order page for a merchant’s customers and tools around it: order tracking, address and quantity changes, variant swaps, cancellation, a post-purchase offer, a check-in that asks whether anything is wrong, store credit offers, and a dashboard summarising the result.

Which actions are available, for how long after an order is placed, and on what terms store credit is issued are all controlled by the merchant in the app’s settings. Retainify performs them on the merchant’s behalf through the Shopify Admin API.

2. Plans and billing

Retainify has a free plan and paid plans. Billing is handled entirely by Shopify through the Shopify App Store; Retainify never collects payment details. Charges, trials, proration and refunds follow Shopify’s billing rules, and a subscription is cancelled by uninstalling the app or changing the plan in Shopify.

Features on the paid plan stop working when a shop is not on that plan. Data already created — issued discount codes, dashboard history — is not revoked.

3. What the merchant is responsible for

  • The commercial settings: discount percentages, store credit values, caps, and how long customers may edit an order.
  • Honouring the offers the app makes on their behalf. A store credit code issued by Retainify is a real Shopify discount code.
  • Their own privacy policy and customer communications, including any email templates into which they paste a Retainify link.
  • Keeping their Shopify account secure. Anyone with admin access to the store can change Retainify’s settings.

4. Acceptable use

Retainify may not be used to mislead customers about the terms of an offer, to issue credit the merchant does not intend to honour, or to attempt to read or modify orders belonging to another store. Automated abuse of the customer-facing endpoints is rate-limited and logged.

5. Availability

Retainify is provided as-is, without an uptime guarantee. It depends on Shopify’s APIs and on third-party services named in the Privacy Policy; when those are unavailable, parts of the app will be too. Features that touch money fail closed — if entitlement or an order cannot be verified, the action is refused rather than guessed.

6. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Retainify is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees paid for the app in that period. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Ending the agreement

A merchant may uninstall at any time; billing stops according to Shopify’s rules. On uninstall, Shopify notifies Retainify and the shop’s stored data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy. Retainify may suspend an account that breaches section 4.

8. Changes

These terms may change as the app changes. Material changes will be dated here; continuing to use the app after a change means accepting it.
